Today, December 4, Nima Energy strengthened Stockholm’s electric vehicle infrastructure by inaugurating three new 300 kW charging stations. With a total of 50 ultra-fast* charging points, 36 of which are located inside the tolls, Nima multiplies the possibilities for ultra-fast charging in central Stockholm.

The new stations are located at Valhallavägen 60 in Östermalm (16 charging points), Ringvägen 164 in Södermalm (8 charging points) and Drottningsholmsvägen 175 in Alvik (14 charging points). Valhallavägen will be the largest ultra-fast charging station in Stockholm.

The stations were inaugurated by Lars Strömgren (MP), Traffic commissioner in the City of Stockholm, Kristofer Fröjd, Senior Vice President of Ellevio and Marcus Landelin, CEO of Nima Energy.

– We are proud to continue to promote the transition to fossil-free vehicles for both private individuals and companies. With a multiplication of ultra-fast chargers in Stockholm, more people can switch to electric vehicles and charge both quickly and easily without losing valuable time, says Marcus Landelin, CEO of Nima Energy.

– I remember when Nima and I discussed their concept at the powerpoint stage a few years ago. To see that vision come to life with fast charging stations all over Sweden and establish themselves as a leading player is impressive. I am also proud of our cooperation here in Stockholm, where we have built and connected these stations to the grid, says Kristofer Fröjd, Senior Vice President at Ellevio.

Nima Energy is taking another step to support the City of Stockholm’s goal of reducing emissions from the transportation sector by 80% by 2030 and the city’s efforts to phase out fossil fuels. By providing a fast, easy and reliable charging infrastructure, we enable more people to make the transition to fossil-free vehicles.

– We want to build a Stockholm with less noise, lower emissions and healthier air. That’s why we are currently preparing the introduction of the world’s first environmental zone without gasoline and diesel cars. With more ultra-fast chargers, the transition will be easier for residents, visitors and entrepreneurs, says Lars Strömgren (MP), Mayor of Stockholm.

Nima’s ultra-fast network is growing

Nima wants to strengthen the transition to a fossil-free vehicle fleet by building charging infrastructure that meets the needs of tomorrow’s electric vehicles. Nima will soon have 11 stations with a total of 142 charging points for ultra-fast charging in Sweden. The goal is to build a total of 1250 charging points in the Nordic region within 36 months.

About Nima Energy

Nima develops, builds and operates stations for ultra-fast charging of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Nima was founded in 2020 and is based in Malmö, Sweden. The company is owned by the founders together with Niam through its infrastructure fund Niam Infra Fund, which in May 2022 was announced as a minority shareholder in Nima and financier for the company’s future scale-up and construction of charging stations. Nima’s goal is to become one of the leading charging operators for ultra-fast charging in the Nordic region, and by extension northern Europe.

*Nima’s definition of ultra-fast charging is chargers with an output of at least 300 kW.
